BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. Azerbaijani women
farmers need a platform to unlock their potential in creating jobs
based on environmentally sustainable skills, Director of the Woman
Farmer Foundation Sonia Paiva said during a panel discussion on
"Creating a Green Skills Ecosystem for SMEs" on the third day of
the international conference at Baku Climate Action Week, Trend reports.
"The future of job creation, along with any initiatives we
discuss today—be it climate, water resources, or other aspects of
sustainable development—is inextricably linked to the growth of
agriculture. Key directions and resources should be focused on this
sector," Paiva said.
She highlighted the need to pay particular attention to the
professional skills of women and youth.
"It is crucial that they have the opportunity to develop their
competencies, as these groups play a vital role in sustainable
development. For example, here in Azerbaijan, I have noticed that
women are actively involved in agriculture, but their contributions
often go unrecognized. They need a platform to unlock their
potential in creating jobs based on environmentally sustainable
skills. Addressing these issues is critically important," she
added.
