“The initial stage of the return process under the I State Program on the Great Return has been launched, 34,500 families or 140,000 Azerbaijani citizens will be resettled by 2026,” said Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov during the discussion of the budget envelope for 2024 at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis, APA reports.
The Prime Minister said that under the Great Return Program, a total of 987 families (3932 people) were resettled in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated after the Patriotic War: “An additional 215 families are expected to be resettled by the end of this year. I would like to make a special mention that more than 50 million manats were allocated in the budget for the local expenses of the Garabagh economic region’s areas - Khankandi, Aghdara, Khojaly, Khojavand and the districts and cities liberated from occupation as a whole.”
