Uzbekistan delegation participates in “Children of the Commonwealth” Forum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The IX International Cultural and Educational Forum "Children of the Commonwealth" has opened on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. 
The forum is organized by the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS and the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Intergovernmental Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS member states.
This year, schoolchildren and their mentors from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan are participating in the event, as reported by the CIS Executive Committee’s press service.
At the grand opening ceremony, each delegation showcased the national culture of their country.
The heads of parliament from CIS countries sent greetings to the event participants.
Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan emphasized in his address that the forum serves as a unique platform for the younger generation to familiarize themselves with the cultures of CIS countries.
"The forum also contributes to deepening friendly and good-neighborly relations between our peoples. Such projects contribute to preserving historical memory, strengthening intercultural cooperation, and fostering respect for universal human values. I wish all participants fruitful communication and constructive work," his greeting stated.
Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva also extended greetings to the participants. She highlighted the significance of this year’s forum under the motto "Children of the Commonwealth - Together We Are."
"There is an Uzbek proverb ‘Kuch – birlikda,’ which means ‘In unity – strength.’ Your aspiration to unite with your peers towards noble goals and jointly implement your aspirations will help you become worthy heirs of your ancestors, continuing the great constructive work initiated by representatives of the older generation," the Senate speaker emphasized. Her greetings were read by the Advisor of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan Bakhtier Rozbakiev.
In the welcoming remarks of the Secretary General of the CIS IPA Council Dmitry Kobitsky, it is noted that a person’s destiny is largely laid in childhood, and the destiny of the CIS is determined in such platforms as the forum.
"Unique conditions are created here for shaping new leaders, establishing long-term connections, and fostering creative cooperation. I know that each of you is a patriot of your country. Thinking about the future, you wish only good and prosperity for your homeland, and cooperation within the Commonwealth provides inexhaustible opportunities for this," emphasized the head of the Secretariat.
The opening of the forum was congratulated by the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Ilimbek Kubanychbekov, the Deputy Director of the CIS IPA Secretariat – Director of the IMRD of the CIS IPA Ivan Mushket, the Representative of the Assembly of Peoples of Kyrgyzstan Almanbet Matubraimov, the head of the working group on the forum in Cholpon-Ata Bakhtiyar Kadyrov, the coordinator of the forum in Cholpon-Ata, Director of the Bishkek branch of the IMRD of the CIS IPA Nurbek Satvaldiev.
On the first day of the forum, a presentation of Kyrgyzstan’s cultural traditions took place. The participants taught schoolchildren from other delegations to play one of the most popular games of the Kyrgyz people – "Ordo." Additionally, a felting workshop was held today.
At the forum, each delegation will present the traditions and customs of their country. Among the activities prepared for the children are exhibitions, master classes, sports competitions, intellectual games, educational trainings, musical contests, art evenings, and many others.
The "Children of the Commonwealth" forum, initiated by the parliament of Kyrgyzstan, has been held annually since 2013. During its existence, more than 700 schoolchildren have participated. The main goal of the project is to create an international platform for educating children and youth in the spirit of good neighborliness and cooperation.
