Over 200 apartment buildings recognized as seismically vulnerable in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - More than 70% of apartment buildings in Uzbekistan were built before 1991. Over 1,000 buildings require technical inspection, and 223 of them are recognized as seismically vulnerable, Podrobno.uz reports.
These data are presented in the draft law of the Ministry of Justice on renovating urban planning. The document states that out of 42,000 apartment buildings in the country, 30,800 (73%) were built before 1991.
The government plans to launch a project on housing renovation in every region of the country, which will update the housing and improve the safety of buildings.
The document emphasizes the need to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, expand green areas, update architecture, as well as remove or rebuild outdated and unsafe facilities.
