Dubai hosted a meeting of representatives of five nuclear-weapon states: Russia, the United States, China, France and the United Kingdom, APA reports.
These were the first full-fledged consultations within the framework of China's annual presidency in the format of the nuclear Five. The key topic of the meeting, as follows from the message of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, was nuclear doctrines.
Beijing considered that in the current circumstances, discussing this issue would allow the nuclear powers to avoid misunderstandings and miscalculations. Other capitals seem to have supported this approach, which has become particularly relevant in connection with Russia's recent promulgation of an updated nuclear doctrine.
