Newspaper: Authorities are attempting to ‘keep’ economic situation in Armenia ‘stable’

Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in part: Zhoghovurd daily learned from official documents that according to the actual summary indicators of the RA state budget, the RA state budget deficit in the months of January-December 2023 was -179 million drams.
According to the publication of the RA Statistical Committee, the state budget revenues amounted to 2,063,095 million drams.
The RA state budget taxes have generated from profit tax, customs duty, excise tax, turnover and income taxes.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in the final speech of the discussion of the RA 2023 state budget draft in the National Assembly, (…) had not stressed anything about the [state budget] deficit, but it should be noted that, if according to Pashinyan, the [state] budget [of Armenia] is increasing, then there is a need to remind that the external debt [of the country] is also is rapidly multiplying.
(...). It turns out that the authorities are attempting to "keep" the economic situation of the country “stable” by covering the budget deficit, making ends meet with loans.
