Azerbaijani Deputy Minister visits Greece

On April 10-12, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev paid a working visit to Greece.

During the visit, Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev participated in the panel discussions on the sessions of the Conference of Parties (COP) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change at the IX Delphi Economic Forum.

In his speech, Fariz Rzayev discussed the preparations and upcoming tasks for COP29, which will be held in Azerbaijan in November 2024, as well as the steps taken in Azerbaijan towards environmental protection and the development of alternative energy sources. F. Rzayev also informed that the territories freed from the occupation of our country have been declared green energy zones, and the region's energy needs, including settlements rebuilt based on the "smart city" and "smart village" concepts, are provided with green energy.

As part of the visit, F. Rzayev also met with government officials and parliament members of Greece. At the meetings, views were exchanged on the current situation and development prospects of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as issues on the regional and international agenda.
