AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov has inaugurated the Kainama small hydropower plant on July 22 as part of his working visit to Jalal-Abad region.
Construction of the given plant in Toktogul district began in November 2023. The plant has two turbine-generator units with capacity of 9.6 MW.
$9.3 million investments were allocated for construction of the chain of hydropower plants, President Japarov said. They include contributions of Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark and the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund.
The Kainama hydropower plant will generate 39.2 million kWh of electricity a year for population of Uch-Terek rural municipality and a part of the town of Kara-Kul.
The Kainama small hydropower plant will become one of the biggest taxpayers in Toktogul district, making a significant contribution into economic development of the region, President Japarov said.
The Kainama plant lies in upper riches of the Kara-Suu river, near Kara-Suu Lake.
