The Turkic Scout Bloc Established: Uniting Scouts Across Turkic Heritage Nations

Baku, 08.12.2024 – The Turkic Scout Bloc was officially established today during the open session of the "Scouts of Turan" project, supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This historic initiative unites National Scout Organizations (NSOs) from Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, and Turkey as founding members, with representatives from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan also in attendance.

The establishment of the Turkic Scout Bloc aligns with the broader vision of fostering cooperation among countries with shared heritage and history, as championed by the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The bloc brings together NSOs from member and observer countries of the OTS to develop strong ties between young people, built on shared traditions and values.

During the session, the three strategic priorities of the Turkic Scout Bloc were outlined:

1. Turkic Scout Badge Program: A one-year unified program for young people and children in member and observer countries to develop skills, leadership, and Scout values.

2. Turkic Scout Jamboree: A regional gathering where scouts from member and observer countries come together to build friendships, foster unity, and participate in a shared Jamboree program.

3. Support for Emerging NSOs: Strengthening and fostering the Scout Movement in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, while extending efforts to include Turkmenistan in the future.

By connecting young people through these initiatives, the Turkic Scout Bloc seeks to build a strong network of future leaders rooted in unity, cultural exchange, and collaboration—values that reflect the spirit of the Organization of Turkic States.
