Numerous electric buses to be delivered to Azerbaijan in coming days

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 1. About 160
purchased electric buses will be delivered to Azerbaijan in the
coming days, Advisor to Azerbaijan's Minister of Digital
Development and Transport Aida Badalova said during her speech on
the second day of Baku Climate Action Week, Trend
reports.
She noted that the infrastructure created in the countries
should be resistant to climate change.
“We are guiding people to use sustainable transportation. Our
goal is to reduce the number of private cars by 30-40 percent. We
want people to use public transportation. We try to limit the use
of cabs to close distances of 1-2 kilometers.
Besides, we are working on the integration of smart
technologies. About 160 electric buses have already been procured,
and they will be delivered to the country in the coming days. Thus,
we hope that we will achieve our goals,” she added.
To note, the Climate Action Week runs from September 30 through
October 4, 2024, and is being held in Baku for the first time.

The event is set to form the basis of the climate agenda ahead
of WCOOP 29 in Baku in November.
The Climate Action Week brings together key stakeholders from a
range of sectors such as politics, finance, trade, investment,
science, arts, culture, civil society, and media.
The first half of the week (September 30-October 2) focuses on
climate solutions involving government agencies, academia, and the
private sector. The second half (October 3-4) will focus on
science, education, arts, culture, and other sectors.
